Join us for an exciting tour and visit the Jozani Forest. Your program will start in the morning as soon as you finish your breakfast at 8:00 am

Our driver will be ready to pick you up from your hotel to Chwaka Bay, ready to explore the forest. The Jozani Forest is the only National Park in Zanzibar, located in the center of the Jozani-Chwaka Bay National Park, 38 km Southeast of Stone Town. The forest is a great place to encounter a wide range of indigenous flora and fauna, including the Zanzibari Red Colobus Monkey, unique to Zanzibar, with fewer than 2,000 remaining worldwide. Other species that you might catch a glimpse of include Blue Sykes’ Monkeys, Bush Pigs, Aders Duiker Antelopes, Elephant Shrews, Chameleons, and numerous birds and butterflies.

A guide will walk you around the ancient hardwood forest and mangrove swamps. Enjoy walking through this beautiful nature park on an excellent nature trail with a well-trained, informative local guide.

The best time to see Jozani's wildlife is early in the morning, and it is open daily from 07:30 am to 5:00 pm. Visitors are advised to keep 3 meters from any wildlife and are asked not to visit the forest if experiencing any cold or flu-like symptoms. The monkeys, though susceptible to human diseases, have practically no resistance to them.

At the end of the tour, you will also have a visit to the giant turtle sanctuary (OPTIONAL) and a boardwalk around the mangrove swamp, where medicinal tropical herbs can be seen.
