Enjoy an outdoor adventure hiking experience at Kimakia Forest in Aberdare ranges. A hidden gem and one of the many hiking trails with an awe-inspiring landscape in Aberdare Ranges. Kimakia Forest Trail lies at the edge of the Murang'a border with Kiambu County maataara Hike & Gacako Waterfalls Chase is
another trail that straddles at Muranga -Kiambu counties border. Very close
to Kimakia Forest Trail. The journey starts from Nairobi, enjoy a 2-hour
scenic drive through the Kenyan countryside passing through the Tea Farming
Plantations to the Trek starting point. On arrival ignite your soul with the magic of forest
bathing, the short exciting and adventurous trail to Kimakia Falls with
multiple river crossings and walking on an unbeaten trail follows an old
fisherman's path down the forest full of indigenous trees giving the trail a
well-cover providing much-desired shade from the sun. The trail then goes
down to a giant Mugumo tree before crossing the burbling Chania River and
then following the Ragia River to the double-tier waterfall. We cross over and start climbing up towards the Ragia
River. After about an hour or so of hiking through nature's beauty with a
scenic view from both sides, we reach our destination the base of the
thundering approximately 60m -2 stair Kimakia Falls. Take time and be mesmerized by the beautiful sight
of 3 waterfalls thrashing over the rocks with majesty, enjoy the peaceful
moment to connect with self, and let the roaring thunderous sound calm you
down. Soon we retrace our steps back to the camp as we continue the hike
through the dense bamboo forest. A comfortable
Hiking shoe with excellent grip and a Trekking pole is recommended on this
trail for crossing the rivers There are high chances of coming across wild animals
on this trail, especially The Columbus monkeys and occasionally elephants are
found but disappear into the thick forest.
