DESCRIPTION
Kongo River is a secluded and secret area at the northern tip of Diani, where you will find the oldest Mosque as well as smooth white dunes. 
Here is where the trip begins as you sail through mangroves and palm trees up to a lush vegetated island and clear waters as you spot birds and fishes. 
Gain an insight into local life as the village kids jump into the water and enjoy their playtime. 
Discover the mangroves and learn about their vital existence.
On this tour, you get to experience the gorgeous Kongo River estuary, the ever-changing sandy beach, the great waves, and the sunset canoe ride. 
You will be sailing into the sunset with the ocean behind you in a local traditional canoe. 
The Canoe is powered by human energy (the captain rows) which means no engines and no dirty fumes entering the water
Not only is this trip very relaxing and serene, but it also carries a great history that the captain will explain to you as he rows along the mangrove-filled water. 
The trip is great for bird lovers and bird watchers as the river invites over 30 species of birds who come looking for food.

What to expect
Stop at Kongo Mosque, Kwale Kenya where we will meet the guide and walk to the Estuary as we exchange pleasantries and get a short introduction of the trip. Then meet the captain and board a traditional canoe. We will sail down the Kongo River watching the beautiful sunset leaving the ocean behind us.
